Export Traffic Counts

Agencies using Roadsoft for managing traffic count data are able to export traffic study data for submission to the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) for federal reporting requirement use.

Agencies are able to enter traffic count data directly into Roadsoft or use the import feature to bring in traffic count data from other sources (must be in .csv file format). Any traffic count data imported into Roadsoft must be imported using the short count format for acceptance by MDOT upon export from Roadsoft. See Short Count Format Column Definitions for more information. See Import Short Count Format for more information on importing traffic count data.

Reporting Requirements

The traffic count study must be less than 6 years old.

The duration of the study must be 24 hours or greater.

Each study must be current with a unique PR number and milepoint location.

An Average Daily Traffic (ADT) must be assigned to each of the traffic studies.

Select the Export File button. The Export Complete window will appear.
