Import Detailed Format
Data that is imported in Detailed Format can also be exported in Short Count Format. This means data imported in a format MDOT doesn’t use can still be put in the right format for MDOT by using Roadsoft.
Detailed Format Setup
Setting up the Detailed Count Format .csv requires exact positioning of data in the specified columns and rows. Review the Detailed Count Format Column Definition topic for details on the necessary columns for this format.
Start Hour column should contain values 0-23 (not military time).
Each row in the .csv is a 24 hour period, with the date in the year/month/day columns.
Detailed Count Format only supports 24 hour counts.
There are 24 hourly columns H1- H24. Start the counts in the column corresponding to the start hour (E.g. If the traffic count started at 11am, the 11am count results are entered in column H11).
Counts wrap around on the same row. (E.g. If the traffic count started at 11pm, the 12pm count results are entered in column H24, then 1 am count results are entered in column H1 of the same row).
Do not make multiple rows.
If there are items that fail to import, a report will be generated and the report file will be placed in the same location that the imported .CSV file was selected from. For example, if the .CSV file is saved to the desktop, the failure report will be saved to the desktop.
