Add, Edit & Delete Sidewalk Inspections

The Sidewalk Module’s Inspection tab is a place for recording information on the condition and proposed maintenance for sidewalks. This enables agencies to record and review their sidewalk conditions over time for planning and reporting purposes.

Add an Inspection

With the Sidewalk layer visible and active:

Select the desired sidewalk from the map.

Select the View Module button from the Map Tool Options.

Select the Inspection tab from within the module.

Manage the number of tabs onscreen by pinning them. For help pinning windows, see Pin & Unpin Windows.

Select the Add button.

Select fields to enter information.

The Condition and Inspector Name fields are required.

Inspection Date – Select the Drop-down menu to select the performance date of the inspection.

Inspector – Select the field to enter who performed the inspection.

Condition – Select the Drop-down list to select the general condition of the sidewalk.

Memo – Select the field to enter any information relevant to the sidewalk that does not fit another field.

Proposed Activities – Select one or more work activities based on the inspection. If activities are not necessary, leave the No Activity Needed field as ‘Yes’.

The inspection form automatically marks the No Activity Needed field as ‘Yes’, but after selecting another activity, the field automatically changes to ‘No’. The Sidewalk Obstructions section uses lookups. For instructions on using these lookups, see Add, Edit & Delete Sidewalk Lookups.

Select the Save button to save the inspection or select the Cancel button to discard it.

Edit an Inspection

With the Sidewalk layer visible and active:

Select the desired sidewalk from the map.

Select the View Module button from the Map Tool Options.

Select the Inspection tab from within the module.

Manage the number of tabs onscreen by pinning them. For help pinning windows, see Pin & Unpin Windows.

Locate the desired inspection, and select a field to edit.

Select the Edit button.

Editing any field from an inspection will open the Edit Inspection window for that inspection.

Select fields to edit the information.

Select the Save button to save any changes, or select the Cancel button to discard them.

Delete an Inspection

With the Sidewalk layer visible and active:

Select the desired sidewalk from the map.

Select the View Module button from the Map Tool Options.

Select the Inspection tab from within the module.

Select the Delete Inspection… link in the desired inspection.

Select the Yes button to delete the inspection, or select the No button to close the Delete window.
