Model Inventory of Roadway Elements (MIRE) Data Pull

With each yearly framework basemap update, the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will provide Model Inventory of Roadway Elements (MIRE) data for road and intersections for use in Raodsoft. Roadsoft will provide functionality to allow this MIRE data to be “pulled” from MDOT servers, as well as the ability to “push” updated information back to MDOT servers.

MDOT will provide data for the following road and intersection MIRE fields:

Road MIRE Fields:

  • MIRE Surface Type
  • Through Lanes
  • Median Type
  • Facility Type
  • Travel Direction
  • Access Control
  • AADT

Intersection MIRE Fields:

  • Traffic Control
  • Geometry

Pulling Data From MDOT

Roadsoft clients can compare MDOT data for these fields to their local data and choose which data to pull from MDOT to update their system.

For road MIRE data:

  1. From the MIRE menu, under the Roads menu, click 'Apply new MIRE Road Segment Data from MDOT'.
  2. Select the MIRE Data fields to compare:

Compare all Legal Systems or limit the Legal Systems to compare by unchecking 'All Legal Systems' and checking the desired Legal System value(s).

It is possible to view only records where there is no value defined locally, or view records where MDOT has a different value than the local value.

The grid will display the values that can be applied from the local database to MDOT.

Select the checkbox to indicate that the value will be applied.

Click the 'Apply Local MIRE Data to MDOT Data' button to apply the data for the selected MIRE Data Field.

For intersection MIRE data:

From the MIRE menu, under the Intersections menu, click 'Apply new MIRE Intersection Data from MDOT'
