Import Roadsoft Data

There are several ways to import data into Roadsoft depending on the file type and source of the data. This document describes the Import Roadsoft Data process. This process imports data into Roadsoft from a file that was exported from a Roadsoft database that contains the same framework and jurisdiction information.

Importing Roadsoft data requires administrator or power user permissions.

In the top menu bar, select File.

Select Import.

Select Import Roadsoft Data…

The Import Roadsoft Data window will open.

Select Yes to perform a backup, select No to bypass the backup process, but continue with data import, or select Cancel to stop the import process.

It is always recommended to complete a backup prior to importing any data into a Roadsoft database.

The Import Roadsoft Data window will open.

Select the Browse button.

Locate and select the RSExport file to be imported.

Select the Open button.

The Import Roadsoft Data window will open.

Determine the data to import by selecting or unselecting the Jurisdiction, Legal System, Function Class, and Data Types.

Select the Import button.

The Import Warning window will open.

Select the Import Data button to proceed with the import, or select the Cancel button to stop the import.

Importing an RSExport file will overwrite existing data, be sure there is a current backup of the database before importing.

The Roadsoft Import Successful window will appear if the import was successful, otherwise an exception or other failure indicator will be received. Select OK.
