Completing a Stream Crossing Data Sheet with Trimble Yuma

Prior to collecting stream crossing inventory, the Great Lakes Road Stream Crossing Inventory Instructions should be reviewed. The stream crossing inventory protocol was developed in cooperation of federal, state, and local agencies (a complete listing is noted on the instruction booklet).

Enter Stream Crossing Surveys – Trimble Yuma

Stream crossing surveys can be collected, edited, or deleted running the LDC on a Trimble Yuma.

Enter a New Stream Crossing Survey

For collecting with the LDC on a Trimble Yuma:

With the Culvert layer active:

Select a culvert.

Select the Stream Surveys tab.

The tab is located in the top left corner of the culvert details area.

Select the Add Stream Crossing Survey button.

The Stream Crossing Survey window will open.

Some numeric fields will have a default of -1. If no data were collected for these fields, leave the value at -1; do not change to zero (0).

Select the General tab and complete the collected fields.

Select the Crossing tab and complete the collected fields.

Select the Structure tab and complete the collected fields.

      1. Select the Add Span link to enter additional spans.
      2. If multiple spans have been added, they can be deleted by selecting the Delete Span link and then selecting the Yes button to confirm the deletion.

Select the Stream tab and complete the collected fields.

Select the Road tab and complete the collected fields.

Select the Erosion tab.

      1. Select the Add Erosion Location link to enter collected erosion location information.
      2. If multiple erosion locations have been added, they can be deleted by selecting the Delete Erosion Location link and then selecting the Yes button to confirm the deletion.

Select the Summary tab and complete the collected fields.

Select the Passability tab and complete the collected fields.

Select the Photos tab.

      1. Determine where the Yuma will store photographs.
      2. In the Photos tab of the Stream Crossing Survey window, select the [change] link next to Photos Folder.
      3. Navigate to that folder and select OK.
      4. Select Take Photo.
      5. When the Yuma saves a photo to that folder, LDC will open that photograph.
      6. Select the OK button to use the saved photograph or take another photograph to replace the selection.

Select the Apply button to save the data.
